Squidoo: Made Top 100 and Number 1

If you are a Squidoo user, you may want to read this post… and if you are not, then maybe you should join now. Squidoo lenses have sent hundreds of quality, unique visitors to my sites.

Top 100 and Number 1

One of my Squidoo lenses made it into the Top 100 Squidoo lenses list about a month ago. And….it also made it to #1 in my selected category! And it is still #1. I’m not going to reveal the category or lens because that would just create more competition. You know that’s true. However, I will share with you how I did it…

What did I do to rank in the Top 100 and what can you do to achieve this?

1. Write unique content. I’m sure you are sick of people telling you this, but it’s true. Search engines really do love unique content and Google + Yahoo love Squidoo. I get traffic to my top lens by both.

2. Write unique articles about your topic or any topic within your chosen lens. Then submit to article directories. Then SPIN(recommend jetspinner) your articles and submit them to more article directories.

3. Social Bookmark your lenses. The #1 place being lensroll.com… made for Squidoo lenses. I will make another post soon with the best Social Bookmark sites to submit to… you know, the do-follow ones. You need all the link juice you can get, right?

4. Submit your lenses to web directories. While many do not approve Squidoo lenses…many do! First submit to Isle of Squid and Squoogle. They accept quality Squidoo lenses.

5. Ping every time you update your lens.

6. Submit your rss feed to rss feed directories.

7. Update and add content regularly. This is one of the most important things I can tell you.

8. Make use of all 40 tags. I know a little secret about Squidoo tags. It will boost your PR and boost your rankings. Many people charge a fee for this info. However, I will offer this info for free soon. Stay tuned to another Squidoo post coming soon…

Hi! I have several Squidoo lenses and 3 of them are getting close to the top 100 in their categories. I will definitely use the social bookmarking tips you provided here. I just started making money as well… and I think you have some really good advice - I will let you know how my lenses are doing. Thanks!!

    BTW… I LOVE TO SQUIDOO!! It’s addicting!

I have a lens that doing pretty much the same as yours.

Like you, I created good content; like you I value tags.

But unlike you, I submitted to no article directories, and didnt ping or spin. I just worked hard on choosing keywords to target (popular but not competitive) and now get almost all my traffic from search engines.

But I was very interested to read about your methods only I didnt understand them all:

Do you mean submit your LENS to article directories? or shortened versions of it?

What do you mean by spin?

    Ping? how do you ping?

    I’ld love to know.

I’m also definitely gonna try and work out who you are! ;)

What I mean by submit to articles directories…

Create a 400 - 500 word article around the topic of your lens. Then add your link in the resource box. After that, you submit your article (including your lens link) to article directories. The best directories are ezinearticles.com and goarticles.com.

    Spinning Articles…

Jetspinner.com will spin or create re-worded versions of your article. Then, you can resubmit your article to article directories again. The spinner can spin your article up to 1000 times.

    Ping…

You find the rss feed for your lens. You can find it on the right hand side of the page. It will have an orange icon next to the link. Then take your rss link and submit it to a ping service. I use ping.in for this.

    Hope that helps. :)
